Since Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque’s appointment as WWE’s Head of Talent Relations in the summer of last year, the company have made a number of signings, ranging from ex-NXT stars such as Johnny Gargano, Karrion Kross, and Dakota Kai, to external talent such as Dragon Lee, with further interest in NJPW’s Tama Tonga and Hikuleo also recently reaching the rumour mill.

Back in October, WrestleVotes reported that WWE have significant interest in bringing Chelsea Green back to the company, a report that was followed up on a month later by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who revealed that her signing was being spoken about as a “done deal” within the company.

Fightful Select have now provided an update on Chelsea Green’s WWE status, reporting that she has indeed returned to the company, with her absence from TV thus far being explained by creative not being there for her just yet.

“Although she hasn’t popped back up in WWE as of yet, Fightful is told that not only is Chelsea Green signed to WWE, she has been for quite some time and is still awaiting creative. We’ve asked her to confirm personally a number of times, but that won’t happen for obvious reasons.”

As noted by Fightful, Green recently shut down her OnlyFans page and Major Pod had to limit the production of Chelsea Green merchandise, further confirming her imminent WWE arrival.

Another name rumoured to be WWE-bound recently is Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder. Cardona being the real-life husband of Green has added further fuel to the fire that they’d be returning as a pair, however, Fightful have now confirmed that he hasn’t officially signed as of yet.

“WWE sources have indicated to us that Cardona is not signed, but that we shouldn’t rule anything out for the future.”

Finally, Fightful provided an update on the status of Kylie Rae, who recently competed on an episode of Main Event as Briana Ray. Despite her recent appearance on-screen for the company, the report indicates that Rae, who competed for AEW in the company’s first year, is still currently a free agent.

“Kylie Rae had a WWE tryout, that also led to her appearing on WWE Main Event, which led to speculation that she’d been signed. We can confirm as of now that Kylie Rae is still a free agent.”

-Fightful

Time will tell as to whether Cardona and Rae end up officially signing with WWE. As far as Green is concerned, the upcoming Royal Rumble premium live event seems like an appropriate setting to reintroduce her into the women’s division.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on the status of Green, Cardona, and Rae, as well as any other potential WWE signees as soon as we hear more.
