This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite saw the announcement that Thunder Rosa had suffered an injury, thus causing her planned AEW Women’s Championship defence against Toni Storm at the upcoming All Out PPV to be cancelled. During her absence, an AEW Interim Women’s Champion is set to be crowned, with Toni Storm, Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida all set to collide at the aforementioned All Out event.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now provided an update on the injury status of Thunder Rosa, with the AEW Women’s Champion not expected to to be out of action for like, as evidenced by the decision to crown an Interim Champion rather than have her relinquish the title altogether.

“She is not expected to be out of action very long which is why they are going through the interim route”

As always, we wish Thunder Rosa the best in her recovery, and look forward to her eventually unification bout with whoever emerges from All Out as the AEW Interim Women’s Champion.
