WWE NXT’s global expansion has begun. The next move is to ‘TakeOver’ all of Europe.

WWE’s NXT has always had the game plan of worldwide expansion, before the brand was revitalized as NXT 2.0 in 2021, NXT India was said to be slowly planned to come together. NXT’s future plans however still seem very up in the air admits their reshuffling of creative personnel in WWE, however WWE has officially announced the impending launch of NXT Europe.

Fox News reported that NXT UK will soon go on hiatus for numerous months in the prelude to NXT Europe getting off the ground. NXT UK’s last event will culminate at NXT Worlds Collide on Sunday, September 4th.

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– WWE (NYSE: WWE)  today announced that the NXT brand will grow internationally with the creation of an all-new NXT Europe, with the launch planned for 2023. “Following the success of our live events and talent identification efforts throughout all of Europe, we believe this is the perfect time to expand NXT beyond the UK,” said Shawn Michaels, WWE Vice President of Talent Development Creative. Launched in 2016, NXT UK has received critical acclaim and developed WWE main roster talent such as Rhea Ripley, Doudrop, Gunther and Butch. NXT Europe will reimagine the brand and its talent pipeline with a Pan European focus. Prior to the debut of NXT Europe, Worlds Collide, a premium live event featuring NXT and NXT UK Superstars, will be presented live on Sunday, September 4 at 4 p.m. ET on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.

In recent weeks, numerous NXT UK talents such as; Gallus, Tyler Bate, and Blair Davenport have made the trip to NXT 2.0 looking to make a statement at Bron Breakker’s expense in the case of Tyler Bate.

The report states that the purpose of NXT Europe is to restructure the talent to brand queue but with a reimagined focus on Europe itself and the talent it holds.

Shawn Michaels, who has remained in power in NXT elaborated on his eagerness for the impending expansion during an interview with Fox.

“So some of it, like everything with the WWE and NXT, that pipeline is always fluid. It’s going to be one of those situations where we’re going to have a lot of representation going into Worlds Collide,” Michaels told Fox News Digital. “It’s what NXT has always been and that is to be a pipeline for the WWE in support of RAW and SmackDown. That process is going to continue. We’re going to use the UK talent that we can to go into Worlds Collide and keep that representation out there for as long as we can. As we move things over here in the process, we’ll make all those decisions in 2023 about who’s a part of NXT Europe and who continues to stay here in NXT in hopes of getting a main roster call up.”

Shawn also discussed dream destinations for the incoming brand and noted he retains high interest in places like; Germany, Venice, and Paris.
