Conrad Thompson Reveals Jim Ross’ Brain Surgery Was Successful

Jim Ross has undergone successful brain surgery, according to Conrad Thompson.

One of the most legendary voices in wrestling history, Jim Ross has been signed to AEW sinde their inception in 2019. However, sadly, the 74-year-old has been dealing with some health issues over the last few years, leading to a reduced schedule. Last week, Ross revealed he was set for brain surgery today, August 12, and it now appears as if the procedure went well.

According to Conrad Thompson on X, it’s believed Jim Ross’ surgery was successful.

“Happy to report that our pal @JRsBBQ had a successful procedure this morning! I heard from his lovely daughter this morning that everything went well and good ole JR is expected to be back home by Friday! Please keep JR in your prayers as we hope for a speedy recovery!”

JR got his start in wrestling commentary in Mid South in the early 1980s, before moving to the National Wrestling Alliance, which later became known as WCW. From there, he jumped ship to WWE in 1993. It was there where he provided the soundtrack and voice for the Attitude Era, alongside Jerry “The King” Lawler each week on Monday Night RAW between 1997 and 2008 before being moved to SmackDown.

JR was also Head of Talent relations in WWE during the Ruthless Agression Era and was involved in recruiting and signing stars such as John Cena and Randy Orton.

Ross was sighed to AEW in 2019 where he was a member of the original commentary team alongside Tony Schiavone and Excalibur on Dynamite. His most recent appearance for the company came at Double Or Nothing earlier this year.
