Sheamus Has “No Regrets” About WWE Career

S. Farrelly isn’t regretful over never winning the WWE Intercontinental Title

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the man formerly known as Sheamus would be leaving WWE, with his contract reportedly set to expire around October. A mainstay with the company for nearly two decades, the star became a fan favorite through both his singles and tag team work, making his impending departure a surprise to many fans.

Speaking to Adam’s Apple, the man now known as S. Farrelly addressed his current status and discussed finally having the opportunity to spend more time with friends and family after nearly two decades of life on the road.

“Some circumstances came up. I can’t really talk about it, obviously. But 19 years is a long time and it’s a good crack. I left Ireland in ‘07, so I haven’t really had the luxury to go home and see my family and see my friends. The last couple weeks now, I’ve had a chance to kind of restructure that, and get back and catch up on birthdays and missed opportunities.”

One of the biggest talking points surrounding Sheamus’ departure was that he never captured the Intercontinental Championship, a victory that would have completed his WWE Grand Slam achievement.

When asked about missing out on that accolade, S. Farrelly revealed that he has no regrets from his time with the company.

“I’ve had an amazing career, fella. No regrets. I mean it. No regrets.”

While “The Celtic Warrior” reportedly remains under contract with WWE until October, speculation continues to surround what his next move could be. Due to his connections with talent on the AEW roster, some fans have wondered whether a move to All Elite Wrestling could be on the horizon, while others have expressed interest in seeing him compete in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where his hard-hitting style could be a natural fit.
