Steve Maclin Says He Isn’t Opposed To Joining AEW/ROH

Steve Maclin says he has multiple reasons for potentially joining All Elite Wrestling.

Currently, the free agent market has several talents that would be good fits for certain companies. One such free agent is Steve Maclin, who left TNA recently amidst creative frustrations, and is currently freelancing in certain places like Maple Leaf Pro in Canada. Now, he’s looked ahead and stated his interest in working with one of America’s biggest promotions.

In a chat with TSN Sports, he noted that if AEW came calling, he would be up for being there.

“Yeah, I’m always interested in that end of the world with AEW, especially with my wife there, but then a lot of my friends are also there – my best friend, Josh Alexander, you got the Rascalz [Myron Reed, Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier] there now, too – a lot of TNA alumni, but there’s also a lot of the talent on the AEW roster I’ve been around a long time. There’s dream matchups for me, as well, and if that were to come to fruition and I ended up there, that would be awesome. I would love the opportunity to go out there on AEW Dynamite, Collision, Ring of Honor.”

For those unaware, Maclin is married to Deonna Purrazzo, the current Ring of Honor Women’s Pure Champion. As such, many felt early on that Maclin would jump into AEW, something which is yet to happen. As a free agent, though, the possibility that Maclin could become “All Elite” remains firmly on the table.

What’s curious is that many suspect All Elite Wrestling will likely pick up some key free agents soon, with reports suggesting that Ilja Dragunov and Mara Sadè are already under contract, while rumours persist that KAIRI could soon join the ranks. Whether Maclin is the next to attract interest from the company remains to be seen.
