Latest Reports On Bayley’s WWE Contract Situation

Despite returning to WWE RAW last night, Bayley’s contract situation seemingly remains up in the air.

For months now, both fans and wrestling insiders have been wondering what will happen with Bayley. There has been reports that she would stay in WWE but was negotiating a new deal, which you can read about here. Then, within the last few days, reports swirled that Bayley not only signed a new deal, which you can check out here, but she would be back on Monday Night RAW soon.

Sure enough, Bayley did return to Raw last night and attacked Lyra Valkyria, who had written her off TV for an extended period due to a beatdown their last match at Madison Square Garden. Not long after, Dave Meltzer reported, “Yep, signed a new deal.”

However, in contrast Mike Johnson of PWInsider gave a much different report.

“As PWInsiderElite.com reported, Bayley returned to WWE storylines last night, attacking Lyra Valkyria. She is back on the Raw roster full-time and will be on the road going forward. There are reports that Bayley signed a new WWE deal with that report attributed to Dave Meltzer. That is incorrect. Multiple WWE sources have indicated that there were no conversations about Bayley signing a new deal, as she still has lots of time left on her contract. Anyone claiming she signed a new deal as a condition of her return would be 100% wrong.”

It should be noted that her recent return could very well WWE wanting to use Bayley’s talent to the fullest regardless of her future, especially given her story with Lyra and the months left on her original contract. As such, despite many thinking her appearance last night would spell the end of the rumours about her future with the company, the door remains open for possibilities elsewhere.

While Bayley was off-screen, links with a move to AEW only grew stronger, and, of course, a big part of that is Mercedes Moné. A close friend to “The Role Model” and someome who shares an incredible amount of career history with her, Mercedes has been teasing a change of promotion for her former tag team partner.
